山代温泉

Yamashiro Onsen

温泉が好きだ。撮影後に入る温泉は格別である。もっぱらスーパー銭湯の利用ばかりだが、ロケ地の近くに温泉街があれば、まずは元湯を探す。そんなお気に入りの温泉街の一つ山代温泉は、石川県加賀市にある温泉地。
加賀温泉郷の一つであり、北陸有数の温泉街である。
奈良時代、神亀2年（725年）に仏教僧の行基が温泉を発見したという開湯伝説が残る。戦国時代には明智光秀が訪れ、10日間の湯治で傷を癒したと伝わる。
明治時代には多くの文化人に愛され、北大路魯山人、与謝野晶子などが山代温泉を訪れた。平成21年（2009年）、新たな共同浴場である山代温泉総湯が開業。
翌年には、明治時代の総湯を復元した山代温泉古総湯が開業した。

I like hot springs. There is nothing better than taking a dip in a hot spring after a photo shoot. I usually use super public bathhouses, but if there is a hot spring resort near the filming location, I will first look for the original hot spring. One of my favorite hot spring resorts is Yamashiro Onsen, located in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture.
It is one of the Kaga Onsenkyo (hot spring villages) and one of the leading hot spring resorts in the Hokuriku region.
Legend has it that a Buddhist monk, Gyoki, discovered the hot spring in 725 during the Nara period (710-794). During the Warring States Period, Akechi Mitsuhide visited the area and healed his wounds in a 10-day hot-spring cure.
In the Meiji period, many cultural figures visited Yamashiro Onsen, including Kitaoji Rosanjin and Yosano Akiko.In 2009, a new public bathhouse, Yamashiro Onsen Soyu, opened.
The following year, Yamashiro Onsen Ko Soyu, a restoration of the public bath from the Meiji era, opened.
