山寺（宝珠山立石寺）

Yamadera (Hoshuzan Risshakuji Temple)

通称を山寺と呼ばれる立石寺は、山形県山形市に位置する天台宗の寺院で、自然と歴史が融合した荘厳な雰囲気が特徴です。急峻な岩山に建てられた境内には、1000段以上の石段が続き、道中には多くの仏像や祈念碑が点在する。山頂付近から望む景色は絶景で、四季折々の美しさが楽しめる。特に、紅葉の季節は鮮やかな色彩で多くの観光客を魅了する。
国の名勝と史跡に指定されている。

Risshakuji Temple, commonly called Yamadera, is a Tendai Sect temple located in Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture, and is characterized by a solemn blend of nature and history. Built on a steep rocky hill, the precincts of the temple have more than 1,000 stone steps, and many Buddhist statues and prayer monuments are scattered along the way. The view from near the top of the mountain is spectacular, with beauty to be enjoyed in each of the four seasons. In particular, the brilliant colors of the autumn leaves attract many tourists.
It is designated as a national scenic and historic site.
