能面
Noh mask
子供の頃、能面はそこはかとなく恐ろしげに感じたものだが、年齢を重ねると幽玄美というものに気づく。まさに能面がそうで、日本最古の芸能なだけに能面の内に秘められた高度な精神性と芸術性を見出すようになってきた。
その日の気分や心持ちにより、不思議と能面の表情の見え方が変化する。レンズ越しに微笑みを求めシャッターを切った。
When I was a child, I used to find Noh masks somewhat frightening, but as I grew older, I came to appreciate their ethereal beauty. This is exactly the case with Noh masks. As Japan’s oldest performing art, I have come to appreciate the high level of spirituality and artistry hidden within Noh masks.
Depending on my mood or state of mind on any given day, the way I see the expression on the Noh mask changes in a mysterious way. I looked for a smile through the lens and snapped the shutter.
