名古屋城天守閣

Nagoya Castle Keep

当時、国宝だった名古屋城天守閣は、米軍の名古屋大空襲で焼失した。戦後に鉄筋コンクリートで外観復元されたが、耐震構造の問題で現在は閉館となっている。
その為、木造による復元が計画されている。幸いなことに復元に向けた資料が豊富に残っている。復元されれば国内最大の天守閣が誕生することになる。地元の経済効果も期待されるが、新たな被写体としても期待している。

The Nagoya Castle keep, a national treasure at the time, was destroyed by fire in the U.S. air raid on Nagoya. After the war, the exterior was restored with reinforced concrete, but it is now closed due to earthquake resistance.
Therefore, a wooden restoration is being planned. Fortunately, there are abundant materials available for the restoration. If restored, the castle tower will be the largest in Japan. The local economy is expected to benefit from this project, but we are also looking forward to seeing it as a new subject.
