In the silence, the sound of the arrow being plucked and the gaze toward the target further sharpened the tense air. At the moment you catch your breath, the arrow leaves the string, and the sound of the wind cutting through the air pierces the air.
In the process of shooting an arrow, one pursues harmony of mind and body, concentration, and a state of selflessness. This is the same as the Zen concept of “musshin,” which is deeply connected to the value placed on the process itself, not the result.
