Horyuji Temple in Summer
青い夏空の下、世界最古の木造建築が奈良の斑鳩の地に佇むように建っている。見慣れた京都の寺院とは伽藍の隅々のディテールの違いに新しさすら感じる。当時の建築家の想いを想像しながらシャッターを切った。
Under the blue summer sky, the world’s oldest wooden structure stands in Ikaruga, Nara. The temple is even newer than the familiar temples of Kyoto in the detailing of every corner of the temple complex. I snapped the shutter while imagining the thoughts of the architects of the time.
