会津若松城

Aizuwakamatsu Castle

会津若松城は、別名鶴ヶ城とも呼ばれ、幕末には戊辰戦争の激戦地となった城だ。今でもその時の痕跡が残っている。この城の特徴は、天守の赤瓦である。
桜のシーズンになると淡い桜の色と重なり合い美しい姿を見せてくれる。東北一の名城といって差し支えないだろう。

Aizu Wakamatsu Castle, also known as Tsurugajo, was the scene of fierce fighting during the Boshin War at the end of the Edo period. Even today, traces of that time still remain. The castle is characterized by the red tiles of its keep.
During the cherry blossom season, the red tiles overlap with the light color of the cherry blossoms, creating a beautiful sight. It is probably the most famous castle in the Tohoku region.
